Have a wonderful week!
Here in Nevada we are not subject to frequent natural disasters, but we want to be prepared for any that may come our way. To that end, our school participated in The Great Nevada Shakeout last Thursday. This was a state-wide earthquake drill at 10:15 am. The procedure took about 10 minutes, and students were guided, over the loudspeaker, to drop, cover, and hang on during the drill. We then followed up with a short evacuation drill, similar to a fire drill, where students quickly exited the building and assembled on the open field. All teachers had pre-taught the procedures and students executed the drill perfectly. I hope your child was able to talk to you at home about the drill and how to stay safe during an earthquake not just at school, but other places they frequent as well. This Friday is our annual Harvest Festival at Nate Mack! We hope you and your family will come and have some fun with the games, food, raffle, entertainment, and auction. It's a great way to enjoy the fall season together! Be sure you get the best prices by ordering pre-sale wristbands, tickets, and meal deals using the form that came home from the PTO last week. We also hope you'll consider volunteering some time at one of our booths. Just check out the links below to order and sign up to help. It's going to be a great night, and we hope you'll be there!
Have a wonderful week!

The Family and Community Engagement Services (FACES) is a new department in the Clark County School District. We know that students thrive when their families are engaged in helping them learn. Family engagement is a partnership recognizing the collaboration between family, school and community to make sure every student succeeds.
The Nate Mack community works together to meet the individual needs of all students by building meaningful academic, personal, and cultural connections. These connections are made through classroom instruction, integrated technology, and unique experiences that promote global awareness.
To prepare our students for the demands of the 21st century, we use data to drive standards-based instruction and maximize growth in all students. Students strive to meet high academic expectations and personal goals.
The Nate Mack staff model lifelong learning by continually refining and improving our practice through professional development, collaboration, and self-reflection.
